Forming now · help shape it

Hunter AI Commons.

Shaping AI, together, for the common good.
Many parts, laid together. Something held and tended in common.

Artificial intelligence is being woven into work, schools, homes and public life, shaped mostly by distant companies and government. The Hunter AI Commons is a grassroots community initiative helping people understand AI and have a real say in how it is used here, so that it serves human dignity and the common good.

A community initiative beginning across Greater Newcastle, the Lower Hunter,
open to every background, age and view. Building out from there.

Life's busy. We've made it easy to start.

AI is already part of life and work across the Hunter, and it cuts both ways. The scam text that knew your name. The tool that handed a nurse back an hour for patients. The job application a computer screened out. The chatbot that writes your quotes while you finish the job.

None of it is fixed yet. This is the place to understand what's changing, take what helps, and push back on what doesn't.

Start with the version that's about you.

Work in progress

The Hunter AI Commons is just forming, and this site is growing with it. Some of what you read here is an early draft, open to challenge and change. Spot something off, or have a better idea? Tell us, that's how a commons is meant to work.
